If you've been scratching your head, wondering what it is or how to effectively harness it, you're about to discover a game-changing strategy.
Today, we're diving deep into the concept of building Topical Authority through a methodical approach – The Art of Silos.
Our journey will navigate through the essentials of Cornerstone Pages, the significance of Supporting Articles, and the critical role of Revenue Pages.
Get ready for a step-by-step guide that will not only enlighten you but also equip you with practical tools to revamp your website's SEO strategy.

1. Cornerstone Pages – Your Foundation:
These pages are your SEO bedrock, covering broad, high-level topics.
They're not just any content; they should be the most comprehensive, thorough pieces you have. But remember, breadth is key here, not depth.
2. Supporting Pages – Strengthening the Structure:
Next, we have Supporting Pages, each acting as a pillar, reinforcing your Cornerstone Pages.
These delve into specific aspects of your broader topics, targeting more focused, long-tail keywords. They're the secret sauce for quicker, higher rankings.
3. Revenue Pages:
Here's where the magic happens.
These are where your audience converts and where your content translates into tangible gains.
Whether it's product descriptions, service details, or affiliate marketing links, these pages are where your SEO efforts pay off.
Here is what I have described above in one single picture:
The Road to Topical Authority
Step 1: Create a Structure with a Content Strategy.
For this, I am going to get help from ChatGPT.
With this prompt, I can get:
Potential Cornerstone pages, based on defined audience, their pain points, etc…
Supporting Pages, which are aligned to specific cornerstone pages
Specific keywords to target when writing the post.
Potential Title for the blog post.
LSI keywords to include in the blog post.
Here is the prompt
CONTEXT:
You are a professional SEO Content Strategiest, who has done content strategy for Fortune 500 companies to get traffic from Google and increase their revenue.
GOAL:
Your goal is to do a thorough content strategy for my business to build the Topical Authority. This information will be used to create a content strategy and optimize my webiste to drive traffic organically.
Analyze the information about the business and come up with a ground breaking content stragtegy for my business.
RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS:
- Your content strategy should be based on, the business target audience, their problems, pain points, search queries or questions and objections.
- You should provide:
1. Cornerstone Pages/Posts: the most comprehensive, thorough pieces of content.
2. Supporting Pages/Posts: targeting more focused, long-tail keywords
3. Revenue Pages/Posts: these are pages I offer services, sell my products or reffer a product I use for affliate income.
- Provide these information in a table. Each Cornerstone Page/post should have at least 8 Supporting Pages/posts and those pages/posts should be targeted to long tail and medium tail keywords.
- Cornerstone and Support Pages/Posts should be relevant to my audience.
INFORMATION ABOUT MY BUSINESS:
- Target audience: [insert your target audience]
- My business: [describe your business, who you help and the services you provide]
- My blog: [what is your blog is about]
YOUR RESPONSE FORMAT:
Cornerstone Page: (above the table)
Table with 4 columns:
1- Supporting Pages (for Cornerstone Page/Post there should be at least 7Supporting Pages/posts)
2- Keywords (specific for each supporting page/post)
3- Potential Title,
4- LSI keywords (at least 10 LSI keywords related to the main keyword or supporting page/post)
**there should be at least 7 Cornerstone Pages. (each cluster of keywords in a seprate table)
Here is how I filled in the information about a gardening website:

This is not all; next, we get ideas based on the information provided on how we can generate revenue from this site.
For that, here is the prompt I used: (this is a follow-up prompt.)
Up to now, you have completed half of the work.
One more task is remaining.
That is to come up with Revenue Page/Post ideas.
To get those, here is how I want to you act:
First from Cornerstone Page 1 to 7 get all the Cornerstone Page titles and list them.
Second, list all the Supporting Pages/posts under each Cornerstone Page.
Then analyse the cornerstone pages and supporting pages, and come up with post ideas, guides as lead magnets (to collect emails), affiliate opportunities and services I can provide or outsource to generate revenue.

Now you have the cornerstone pages, supporting pages, and revenue pages. It is time to create the content.
Step 2: Long-Tail Keywords
This is the stage where you go in-depth with the supporting pages/post ideas and find long-tail keywords to target.
For this, you can get help from a third-party tool like Ahref or SEMRush. (I will share a deep dive soon in this newsletter.)
Since you are starting, focusing on long-tail keywords that align with your content strategy can give you a boost.
To find low-competition keywords, this is the best tool I used
Step 3: Internal Linking
This is important. With internal linking, crawlers can identify the content depth, which is something related to topic authority.
It's about strategically placing links and providing a seamless, informative experience for your users. This approach naturally elevates your site's authority and rankings.
When you have more pages and posts, it is hard to manage internal linking. Link Wishper is a tool I find very easy to use for this purpose.
Your Action Steps:
Develop a content strategy using the Prompts I provided
Create a detailed structure of Pages
Focus on long-tail keywords related to your cornerstones and supporting pages
Optimize revenue pages and align them with your content strategy for maximum conversion.
Implement strategic internal linking
